The Career Guidance Journey

The career guidance process is structured, transparent, and evidence-based. It integrates psychometric assessment, interviewing, and interpretation to provide insight into abilities, interests, and personality to support informed educational and career decisions.

For clients under the age of 18, parent or legal guardian consent and involvement are required.

Where services are conducted remotely, access to a computer and a stable internet connection is required.

1. Initial Enquiry

Get in touch via email, phone, or the secure enquiry form. A brief discussion follows to understand your needs and gather initial information.

If the request falls outside of scope, a suitable referral will be recommended.

2. Documentation & Informed Consent

Prior to commencement, intake and consent forms are provided and require written consent. For clients under the age of 18, consent must be provided by a parent or legal guardian (or both parents in cases of shared custody).

This outlines the purpose, assessments used, confidentiality, and client rights. Consent can be withdrawn at any stage.

3. Intake Consultation

A structured consultation is scheduled and conducted with the client (online or in person, if preferred) to explore background, goals, and personal context. This, together with the intake form, guides the approach taken.

4. Psychometric Assessment

A date is scheduled for the administration of standardised psychometric assessments, completed online or in person, to evaluate:

  • Cognitive ability
  • Personality
  • Occupational interests
  • Work-related needs

Where appropriate, this can take place on the same day as the intake consultation.

5. Scoring, Interpretation and Integration

Assessment results are carefully scored, interpreted, and integrated with consultation information to build a clear, holistic profile and tailored recommendations.

6. Feedback and Reporting

A feedback session is then scheduled and conducted online or in person with the client (and parent/guardian, if applicable) to discuss results and guide career decision-making.

A written report is then provided with findings and recommendations.

7. Conclusion

The process concludes with feedback and report delivery. Additional support (such as CV writing and interview preparation) can be provided where appropriate.

All records are securely stored in accordance with POPIA and HPCSA ethical requirements.
